HERE'S THE INTRODUCTION TO STOP THE BLEED! Stop the Bleed is a national campaign started in 2015. It was initiated to train, equip, and empower bystanders to step up and treat people experiencing life-threatening bleeding! It's about training ordinary people to become extraordinary by helping people suffering from a bleeding emergency. It's about training people to correctly use tourniquets, dressings and bandages, and wound packing to potentially save a life! In the coming months I will be rolling out more Stop the Bleed videos!

Come see me on Facebook-

Welcome to TacMed TV! My name is Steven. I have been in EMS since 1992, and been a Paramedic for 20 years. Since 2003, I've been a Tactical Paramedic. Like most in EMS, I have a teaching background. ACLS, PALS, BTLS/ITLS, etc., etc. I graduated from the Heckler and Kock International Training Division's Tac Med School. It's now the International School of Tactical Medicine.
My team of Tactical Medics, and I, have done operations with local, state, and federal law enforcement special operations teams. Some of these operations have been featured on the History Channel, The Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Channel. Also, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and other local news agencies.

I hope you enjoy TacMed TV. I'll be working to bring information to fellow Tactical Medics, Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters, EMTs, and Paramedics, that may sometimes, fall through the cracks.

Your videos are great! I am signing up for a Stop the Bleed class at an area Police Department.
I have extensive first aid supplies at my house and in my car but I want at least the basic training. My question is, if I would have to use a tourniquet, is it possible to clean the tourniquet afterwards or do I just throw it away? I have searched the internet for an answer to this question and haven't found one. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
