I upgraded from iPhone 11 Pro to 15 last year. Didn’t go with the pro this time bc i didn’t care about 120hz and i had limited budget. Battery life is so good on 15, dynamic island is great, lighter and camera is so good. 2x camera better than 11 pro. I don’t use macro mode. But i noticed 3 things. 1- AI can easily applicable to 15 and 14 pro. It is not full ready. They should add this phones to the list. 2- those warm cold etc options exist on 15 but they changed the interface so what the point? 3- If i use magnifier on 15 It really does shot better close pictures if you really need. Apple sometimes just add things as marketing not as features or just left phones out for sales point. One software update can elevate old phones but they choose violence and mess up our phones and apple watch (still having battery issues on s9)

Great comparison video. I liked the little audio symbol swapping back and forth between the phones as you tested the microphone input performance of each of them. Nice touch.

One thing I'll point out is that the main camera sensor on the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 16 are the exact same. That's why you can't see any difference between the photos or video when using the main camera.

I can’t afford the 16 but I definitely would use macro mode because for years I’ve always tried to get as close as possible to some subjects like trees, leaves, fruit, grass, water, rocks, sea, beach etc. You can get some really amazing photos if you try macro photography.

i only use macro mode rarely for nice close-up shots, but its something thats nice to have if i ever do need to use it often

12:10 - right one is more hdrish on your jacket
12:16 - slightly more reddish on the right side on your coat
8:09 - more cold is on right side - jacket, buildings, sky

By the way can we make natural photos like iPhone 1st had by photographics styles?

1:59 You're kinda right, but also not.

The tone adjustments ("photographic styles") on 15 and previous were extremely limited in comparison to the 16, and basically useless in practice. Since it could not "undo" any of the HDR effects, it would just add some contrast adjustment on top of the already processed photo, which looked bad. And color wise it could only slightly change the warmth of photos. No tint adjustments or saturation, or "styles".
Also, the adjustments would be baked into the photo, and could not be changed afterwards.

One detail that's making me more inclined towards the 16 instead 15 is knowing that the ceramic shield screen is supposed to be a new generation that's 2x more resistant.

I maintain my opinion that the audio mix feature sounds really weird, like it's compressed or something. Makes me feel like I'm in a pressurized room

I do take macro photos once in a while. I use an older android phone so I use a third party app that allows me to manually focus
