It's funny to me that people don't remember how vocal Daniel Vávra was in 2014 during GamerGate when he sided with the gamers. Here are some of his quotes from back then:

He is very "based", or in other words - he's a normal, talented game developer. KCD is one of the most underrated RPG games of the past decade. The first game is incredible in the level of detail and realism of the world. The characters and the plot are also very interesting. The video presentation of KCD2 is one of the best presentation for a video game that I've seen in many years, possibly since the first reveal for GOW1 in 2016. The mainstream media and mainstream "gaming establishment" isn't advertising or pushing his games, it's all based on costumer and fans' support. His success is as authentic as it comes.

Vavra is a great guy. Probably few ppl know that he's the guy behind original Mafia 1 which I think is still one of the best games ever made, especially storywise, Mafia 2 and KCD. Everything he touched turned into gold. And I believe he will hold the GoTY award like Sven did last year.

Yeah, I remember how "game journalist" tried to create controversy because black people did not live in Bohemia so they were not in game, so they cried out about lack of "diversity" and tried to push Warhouse to either apologise or add them, and Vávra just basicaly said "nope".

I would pay money to see the editor's workflow. How can you watch every stream moment, while simultaneously editing and publishing, while also clipping, while also having an encyclopedic knowledge of the content and being able to find and pull receipts from. It's actually insane.

A lot of respect to the director for understanding that not every game is for everyone. He understand that a highly realistic medieval adventure game, can be hard for some people to get into. A lot of devs don't realise this, and blame the player for not being open minded enough. This Director understands that there are people who might not like the style of games he makes, and he isn't angry over it. I am a massive KCD fan, but I can see why some people might find it too realistic or slow.
