[031] MVS 3.8: Installing RAKF (Part 2)

The second of a three-part video series in which we install the security product RAKF on our MVS 3.8 system.

Errata:
Toward the end of the next video, Part 3, we discover that there may have been a problem with the second PTF, RRKF002, similar in nature to how the fifth PTF didn't successfully install the RACIND utility. We will resolve that problem by the end of the next video.

There are some subtle but far-reaching differences in the macro libraries we have on the TK* distributions and what was on the official IBM MVS/370 CBIPO systems that were used for sysgenning SP-type systems such as MVS/SP. The repo you refer should have all the required macros needed (with PTFs applied) for the official IBM Sysgen process for SP systems. Also, the RAKF we have today is actually a retrofit for MVS/370 from the MVS/SP systems were ESG was initially developed for. The authorization macros between SP and /370 are completely different. Also, ESG was written for ASM H and backported to FX.
