This is an updated version of my personal retropie image Super Display, I had put many hours customizing it to my liking, so I decided to share the it so everybody else who like my work enjoy it. This is not your typical retropie image were builders just add roms and use some one else theme and name the image theirs. My previous 32gb version was well received, few builders even used it as a base and didn’t care to give credit.

What I had done?
Created my own theme Super Display for Emulation Station and Attract Mode.
Made custom loading screen for every system available on the image.
Made bezels for system that didn’t have or didn’t like the ones shared by others.
Modified bezels shared by others to included the inside frame.
Created/collected missing media for roms.
Patched and added more hacks games and made media for it.
Moved ports to pc section and made/collected media for most of the games.
Added systems/hacks not included on motion blue.
Neo Geo AES and MVS act as two separate systems
Framed all game wheels to be unified with different background for each system.
Many Tweaks.

Questions/Help
Again this is my personal image that I decided to share with no obligations so what this mean is if you have questions or need help with this image you don’t go around on other groups or places asking for help. You can contact me thru a comment on youtube or email me on my page.

Links

BEZELS
Bezels are included and enabled for all systems that uses retroarch, please set your pi to 720p or you will have issue with handhelds and a couple of games. The pi runs better at 720p but if you rather set it to 1080p or whatever you'll need to adjust the bezels from retroarch menu.

IMPORTANT

STORAGE
There's only 1.2GB left on the 128gb img, you can gain more space by deleting unwanted games FFVIII psx is 1.5gb you can delete it if not planning to play it.
IMG is base on Motion Blue v6.1 by David Marti

EMULATION STATION
There’s over 30 collections already setup up, you can enable or disable them from the main menu.

Neo Geo AES and MSV setup as two separate systems, AES as Console and MSV as arcade mode. On Attract Mode this was easy to accomplished but on ES I had to create dummy roms (.sh) so all games are pull from the arcade folder without having to have duplicate roms.

If you don’t like the stretched boxart while scrolling thru games, you can go to this location

ATTRACT-MODE

Attract Mode is Categorized by Arcades, Consoles, Computers, Collections, Hacks, if you need to remove a system, you will need to remove it from the category romlist, example if removing Sony PSP find the Handheld romlist located at /home/pi/.attract/romlists/

This how the categories work
Bezels
Loading screen
Super Display Attract Mode

Make sure to set the Raspberry Pi to 720p it runs much better and the snaps will play smooth.

I love the image that you have given us this time, and I have certainly put it in my arcade cabinet, I hope you continue enjoying as much as we do with the games of our childhood.

Need more seeders for this. I had this image saved on my hard drive for 2-3 years and lost all the info on it. Probably one of the best images I ever had. Stuck at 16%.

Pi4 compatible build? This theme and image is on all 3 of my builds but would love a PI4 build with the separated TG16/PCE / NES/FAMICOM themes. Your image rocks!

What a Superior image. Overall the best I've used now for 7 months and have even added roms and running everything off a USB laptop drive for space for all the roms I have added.

I cannot get one thing to function properly. I was wondering if you had any issues with joypad (ps3) controller mapping issues for this emulator only. the UP on the D-Pad is mapped default for the action button but everything else is not even mapped to any function. How could I troubleshoot this type of behavior. ps3 controllers work flawlessly on every other emulator. Your thoughts would be appreciated MrHArias/Community

Chris

I love it how you say take credit when the base was mbv5 on your first release. Also builders of all types even the ones that add roms and a new theme that’s them releasing there personal build and that perfectly ok as well all have different taste. And yes you did work hard on the theme and loading screens and the way your organized it but still not cool to pick on the new guys starting out.

Very good image!
Is there a way to add custom bezel for arcade games? I would like each game to have it’s own bezel (overlay).

Got your 128GB image and liking it. However, I'm running across a lot of games that won't load, such as Golden Axe arcade. Would I be able to load the appropriate ROMs onto the card and have it work? Or is there some setting I need to change?

Also, would is be possible for me to get rid of the preview videos so I can free up space for more isos?

Do you guys know how to make it so the screen isn't cropped? On my pi when I run this image things are cut off all around, so it's hard to read game names, etc.

Hello MrHArias and thanks a lot for this great image! Is there any way to easily remove the pictures of characters that appear on the foreground of the game previews? Some are hiding the preview screen a bit too much for me and I'd rather remove them if that's possible. Thanks!

MrHArias. Beautiful image. Love the game selection. Only issue is in game selection I can only go in one direction. Was this on purpose? If not, do you know how to fix this. Thanks you!

I’ve been using it a lot this year, and it made my retro game project with my kids super easy! Is it likely to work with one of the new Raspberry Pi 4’s?

I am using your 128gb build but when I go to add 8bitdo controllers via bluetooth it keeps failing. Tried 2 different n30 pro’s but no luck.
