Beardyman @ Glastonbury 2010 - Arcadia Stage (part 1)

Part 1 of a rather brutal improvised dance set, keeping it pretty abstract and deep and dirty. Nothing in this set is pre-recorded. I make everything by live-looping my voice through effects and playing riffs into keyboards, using Kaoss Pads and other units.

I just watched a video where Beardyman talked through how his mammoth 4 ipad, loopstation and Ableton setup works now, but actually watching him jam with 4 kaoss pads like this, 10 years ago is still absolutely amazing! Insane skills.

I love this guy. Who else can just roll up to a gig like Glastonbury and just make up a whole set on the fly with nothing but a few electronic units, his voice and his limitless music genius. I have enjoyed every single video I have found of the Beard. He is my number 1 of artists I want to see.

Two weeks, damnit! Can't get this out of my head! I had half hoped that Beardy's amazing talents (musical and otherwise) would be relegated to basementesque gigs for quite some time, but it looks like his abilities have finally been recognized (special thanks to his massive adaptation prowess) by the big dance stage. All will be grand if he continues doing what he loves; I see no sign of this slowing. May his stages grow to fill the spectrum at every point!

I saw beardyman back before Koas pads were even invented. He was epic then, and each time ive seen him since he just gets better and better! Comedy, musical skill, innovation, use of modern tech - he is genuinly a one of a kind!
