You can use it whenever you like. I use it whenever I want the plane in a different attitude: after initial climb, when setting up cruise attitude, and on approaches. In X-Plane it is set up backwards from the real plane. May be same in FSX.

Tim, I use a GoPro 3. The plane is smooth. Very little vibration.

Can someone who is 5ft 4" comfortably fly it? Is the seat height and inseam comfortable for shorties?

Thanks for posting the Mooney videos. I've been considering a Mooney but when I sat in one, I noticed that I was very close to the panel. I'm only 5'8 on a good day. You appear to be a good distance from the panel. Do you have pedal extensions or are you tall? I've read about it being tough in the flare for some people when they are so close to the yoke. Thanks.
