The Princess of Wales has revealed she is undergoing cancer treatment.

In a video message which has just been released, Kate said that her abdominal surgery in January revealed 'cancer had been present'.

This news brought tears to my eyes as I was diagnosed with cancer when my children were three and six yrs old. I know exactly what she is going through and she is amazingly strong but I’d love her to know that I am in my seventies now and I’ve enjoyed a wonderful life watching my children grow into healthy, happy adults with children of their own.

What shocking news, she is so young... When a mother gets ill it's never easy for children, my mother had cancer when I was very young, I have a set of extremely, tremendously painful memories of that period. Then, many years later, I also had cancer, which recurred three times. The illness, this illness, puts you in front of yourself in a violent way, I have discovered parts of life and of myself for which I am very grateful.
May her path of care and healing be light and profound at the same time.
