He didn't need Trump's endorsement to win the Senate seat in Utah. He's extremely popular among Mormons, who make up the majority in Utah. Also, Trump isn't particularly popular among Mormons there. If anything, a Trump endorsement would have been damaging for his senate run there.

Honestly, this video seems biased. Romney is out of touch, but overall, he isn't a bad guy. He hurt his political career by selling out by faking being a social conservative on social policy when he ran in 2012 and also by sucking up to Trump. However, he still has principles, unlike many of his Republican contemporaries.
