How to Trade Ships with Friends in No Man's Sky: Fix Wrecked Ships for Free!

Ever wanted to Trade Ships with a Friend in No Man's Sky? In this No Man's Sky Ship Trading guide, I will show you how to trade or give ships to other players in Coop Mode. We will also show you how to fix crashed ships for free! That's right, we can fix a wrecked ship in No Mans Sky for free by trading it with another player. This is a Glitch and may get patched out of No Mans Sky Multiplayer in a future update. I am on Steam and traded ships with players on Xbox Gamepass for Windows 10 in multiplayer crossplay on June 27, 2020.

Don't know if it still works but there's a similar trick you can use to upgrade a ship. One playthrough I had I swapped the starter ship (Radiant Pillar, C class) and the NPC flew out of the space station, as they do. I was doing stuff on the station, buying cobalt from other npc's and what not. Then the Radiant Pillar flew back in as an A class. You do lose money because it's more expensive to buy back the A class, but you save a ton of nanites to upgrade using the console in the space station. If you're patient enough, you could wait until an S-class version flies in.

You can also get a wrecked ship to the space station without repairing anything using a teleporter, it just follows you up there.

Cheers for sharing. I'm not into the No Fix Wreck thing - definitely a glitch cheat imo - but being able to trade ships with mates is neat. It's free yes, but honestly, if we did the trade the way we wanted to then we could make it free for a buddy that way too.

Can you trade guns?

I honestly just want the game to enable trading with others. A way to set a price, akin to the negotiation with NPCs would be fun.

Tried this out today, and found that it DOES work--for the most part. I think we got too greedy; ended up forgetting which ships we had traded for what and lost a couple of ships that I wanted to keep. Oh, well....we were using some damaged shuttles as our base trades, BEFORE I commit to exchanging my Exotic to move it to another save.

Don't want to lose that beauty.

To get your fixed ship, you could just skip a step and let your friend claim it and fly it over, and then have him trade the ship to you using that gek-in-the-middle method you described.

Very cool, I wish nms had like an official way to trade ships, multi tools and items with other players, that would be cool

Reporting here in October 17th 2022, still works, also you can do this solo, just claim your ship back after trading.

Me and my figured out this glitch when we were screwing around. Also! Heads up, when a friend scraps a ship you can claim it. Me and my friend are still trying to figure this one out though since it seems to replace your primary with the scrapped ship.

If you get a crashed ship, you can fix the engines for free too. Just summon it to you near a portal and teleport to a space station it will auto fix all the engines to stop the sparks flying. Combines with trading to another player you never need to repair a thing.

Just noticed today that on xbox and pc we cant access the community weekend event 🤦‍♂️😢 My discoveries tab continues to say "Connecting" on PC and on xbox it has a red circle "Not available" I hope they have a update soon. Thanks for the vid

I watched this video and was happy to hear it was possible. My son and I play, and I nabbed a Squid Ship for him. I made a bunch of upgrades and add-ons. Also increased the space a lot. Wondering now (hopefully not too late) if the upgrades and spaces will transfer over.
