Several leaders of the Opposition on Tuesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) getting 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking in Parliament on Monday during the Budget Session, Modi predicted that the BJP will win at least 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will cross the 400 mark.

Yes the mood of the nation is undoubtedly in favour of BJP but difficult to fathom how they can reach 400+. I saw Pradeep Bhandari’s so called survey in Rae Bareli where he randomly (I hope so) asked few common folk and the response was in favour of Modi but in no way we can put a number of 90% in favour of BJP. For scientific analysis one needs a large sample and from wider strata of society not go to a roadside tea or grocery shop and ask 10 people. Don’t get me wrong Pradeep Bhandari is a Brilliant analyst but needs to backup with scientific approach. These psephologists may unwittingly be misleading the people in general.
