My Honest Opinion on Arataki Itto: Should You Get Him!?

i have literally no regrets for itto, he's awesome. but i agree that the timing of the rerun is too close to kazuha. better to save if you're on the fence!

Worth noting, Gorou’s burst automatically pulls in crystallize shields towards you every 1.5s. It’s insane you basically have constant crystallize shields which would usually seem ghetto but Gorou makes it good

Itto imo is the most fun character, he balances out both of his advantages and disadvantages on his kit, and hes a hypercarry dps on geo if you have the required team that he is needed

Itto gotta have one of the best personality in Genshin. He is really likable and goofy.

I feel like a lot of people have been playing up on Itto's drawbacks lately and making them out to be a lot worse than they actually are, like him not being able to deal with shields. But the way you put it is how I've experienced him that it's not actually that big of a deal in actual practice and there's super simple workarounds to deal with them. Plus most other characters can struggle with shields just as much because it's mostly just an issue of type matchup.

Another thing that I keep seeing is that he's "NEEDS" 5star supports to perform optimally which can be said about any other major dps characters but Itto still works completely fine with just him, Gorou, Geo MC, and a flex. Plus his best support, Gorou, is perfectly made for Itto, works completely fine at C0 and with low investment, and he's on Itto's banner. Any cons you get just make him even better of a support for Itto but aren't a must have.

From my experience he's still an excellent dps unit that has similar caveats and catches that other upper tier dps characters have as well and is actually a pretty reliable and viable unit to have. Even as niche as his artifact set and domain is, the artifact grinding is a lot more forgiving with him since you actually want DEF on him. The big thing though is that Kazuha is likely just around the corner and like you said if you have to pick between Itto or Kazuha and it's purely from a meta perspective, go Kazuha.

I love Itto's personality and I already have Albedo and/or Zhongli for a team for him. However, I have been saving for Kazuha for so long at this point that Itto is going to have to wait for another rerun.

itto main here: Hes an amazing hypercarry character, never regretted pulling. He isnt very flexible in terms of teams or supports, but hes still an amazing character either way even with low investment he can still pull off some pretty decent damage. Though geo isnt THE strongest, hes kind of like Baal who changed the ENTIRE META for their respective element. Though it depends wether or not you like hypercarry, hes 100% worth pulling for. I dont have Kazuha, so I cant have much say on that part but I can say that he is pretty good from what I've seen.

Itto and xiao due to their neutral elemental dps they are eternal dps characters

i already got some of the best units like hutao, kazuha, raiden, eula, ayaka with shenhe, and I really love everything about itto, I'm at a point where I know I'll be able to complete the abyss so I wanna have fun with the characters I like

what i like about itto is that does amazing damage both in AoE and single target why not stealing your best supports like Bennett xiangling xingqiu sucrose kazuha etc so you can easily make second abyss team

To me I think Itto is definitely worth it imo, especially if you need a good geo dps and you don't want to build Ningguang, Noelle, etc.

Edit: Y'all are seriously underestimating geo, if you're talking about the worst element then electro is right there. 💀

I just love using him since I got him in 2.3 he is just very great to use as he can bonk very hard even without utilizing reactions. He have been carried me through abyss and got fill star since I got him even when the abyss herald with elemental shield were around I forced my way in with him to bonk them all, definitely a great DPS characters all around with little caveats

The one thing no one seems to cover is FUN. This is subjective. I have Ayaka, Ganyu & Hu-Tao but i don’t find their gameplay fun whereas Xiao, Ayato and Itto are all a LOT of fun to play.
