Paul - clearly you don't understand that a side chain on Cardano doesn't need to use Haskell. There is already an EVM side chain by Milkomeda using Solidity and now there is a new Cardano sidechain called Midnight that is using typescript.

I feel like your misguided about cardano, it's worth looking into them properly, Charles hoskins is a visionary setting the foundation for the potential of the crypto space to be realised on. A very humble guy, very very clever, articulate, trustworthy, he's building for the future and the advantages of accepting cardano benefit a huge amount of projects secure a part in the future of crypto.

Paul, similar to Amazon and Tesla, early adopters are coming in with an understanding that in the next cycle, nobody will be close to Cardano because they invested heavily into developing their Layer 1 infrastructure to answer all the current problems.
Applications are only getting started early 2021 after smart contracts came online.
You'll have to wait another year or 2 to see the funded applications flurish.

World Mobile Token on the Cardano network is already solving a utility issue in impoverished African communities and making a material difference in the lives of people, businesses, and government institutions such as hospitals that didn't previously have reliable phone reception or access to the internet (and in the case of hospitals, this ultimately improves patient outcomes). This is the only use of crypto I've seen that is actually helping people who aren't a part of the relatively rich, middle class.

World Mobile Token is single-handedly doing more to improve the lives of people and businesses in the real world than any other crypto I've seen. I'd be happy to be proved wrong so I can look at those projects too.
