Basic balancing with the Road Force® Elite

The best balancer is one that does its work quickly, safely and simply. That’s exactly what the Road Force® Elite was built to do. Field Training Manager Miles Dierker performs a brief walk-through of how easily the tire and wheel assembly can be mounted, balanced and demounted. Procedures demonstrated include vehicle and collet selection, clamping, balance spinning, weight selection and placement, and avoiding rim anomalies.

How to unlock the speed clamp and take off the tire from the balancer?

We have a similar balancer without the road force. What is the benefit of putting in the vehicle? Is it just for cone size and type of clip weight or does it optimize balance?

Why did you not perform a centering check? That’s as important as the collet.

Just had a set of tires/wheels "road force" balance. What a nightmare at Tirerama in Glasgow, MT. No one in their shop truly new what the main advantage of a "road force" balance was (to balance the force exerted by the tire on the road as it rotates). They seemed to think the the main advantage was rotating tires around the vehicle to balance wheel pull. They were using a 15 year old Hunter 9700 and their "old guy" claimed to have 17 years experience. It doesn't matter how good their equipment is if they have their ideas of balance firmly stuck in the '1980s. These guys seriously need to be trained on new (? they've had their Hunter for 15 years) tech and should invest in a modern Hunter road force balancer.
