Revo DSG software vs Stock DSG Software

preview_player
Показать описание
Using the Revo Audi S5 as a test bed, the Revo R&D team are working on a software upgrade for the VAG DSG gearbox which raises the in gear rev limiter as well as the launch control rev limit.

Initial testing shows increased performance and a 12bhp dyno proven power gain.

You can pause the video at any speed, go ahead, on the whole run the only difference is 6mph, and its stays constant and the same from start to finish, this means the two cars accelerate exactly the same, even with the rpm limiter raised on one (higher revs dont always mean more power, that depends on the engine, on some engines you even want to shift sooner cause of the power band), evidently raising the rpm limit doesnt do anything in this case, except shorten the life of your engine. Since the only difference happens at the very start, its either a discrepancy or the launch control rpm.

Why did they use the stock setup in "D" mode? Hardly seems right for a comparison....

if you do this kind of tests you have to put thegearselector in the same gear!!! otherwise the test never be the same ;)

How come the stock tune car shifted from S1 to D1 in no time? It should have been in Sport mode all the way to have a reasonable comparison.

La vista de aariba lleva el cambio en "D" y el de anajo en "S"

Seems once the cars get going there's not much difference.

Wish this was a better comparison....
1. Start times are slightly slightly off
2. Is stock dsg in "D"? Why not sport?
3. Wish there were so e 0-60 using vbox

Good vid though!

am I the only one who noticed the "D" in the stock footage?!

Why stock on D mode and second is on S mode?

porque en STOCK lo ponen en D Y en REVO lo ponen en S ... COMO que no cuadra eso

When its in sport mode it shifts fast and hard and in drive mode goes smoother. Ofc when you move rev limiter on 7100rpm it will hold power little more and be faster but anyway. Factory do it on purpose short shift to protect engine. It makes sense to do that with stage 3 where you have some big ballbearing turbo other than that noup.

Why does it shift like an auto? It's as slow as auto

Upper: standard drive DSG map. Lower: sport drive DSG map. When trying to cheat, at least do it properly, or not so obvious.

So driving in S mode’s quicker than D mode. Someone phone Audi quick and tell them the news

@Revo Any idea why Audi chose to limit the stock configuration to 6400rpm?

Certainly interested in the DSG software and stg 1, , no pulley change...but am Concerned.. the new turbo s5 has moved to an 8sd, audi says the dsg can't take the new torque.. and it is LESS than stg 1... hmmm what ya say revo.. am I going to loose a tranny with stg 1? , , big $$
