."It's All Over Now, Baby Blue"

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense
Take what you have gathered from coincidence
The empty handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home
Your empty handed armies, are all going home
Your lover who just walked out the door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start a new
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

"Thus choosing to die resisting, rather than to live submitting, they fled only from dishonour, but met danger face to face, and after one brief moment, while at the summit of their fortune, escaped, not from their fear, but from their glory."
-Thucydides account of Pericles' Funereal Oration.

I feel pretty lucky I guess to get to be here to hear this music that was mostly created during my lifetime ...some before I was born . I can see the ripple effect of what Dylan has done in the attempts made by more recent writers, singers and cover artists but nothing comes close to Dylan ...and he is still doing it 54 years after his first recording. His impact and contribution is historic and unequaled ..I just wonder what it is like to be Bob ?

So it's my dad's birthday in a couple on Friday, in his honour, as a caring person, I went out and bought one of those pop up tents in a carry bag and put a new towel and some food and cushions in it and left it at my local shop area with a note saying it was for a homeless person, it only cost me about fifty bucks, and I'm sure it will be appreciated. I just always think of homeless people. Thanks dad for teaching me right from wrong and how to help people in need who have noone to turn to

Finally! I've tried to find these classic tracks from the incomparable Dylan for over a year now (in Australia), only to find his music blocked. IMHO, if any artist's music begged to be heard, it's Bob's. In particular, these wonderful early compositions. Thank you so much.
