The Mets got a power-hitting SStop/Second baseman that will move to second once Lindor is healthy. A good move. To give up a prospect for an All-Star? yeah, I would every time. The only concern is that it's another Bat that strikes out a lot. We have plenty of those and are batting with a crappy average. At Least Baez eats up lefties.

Mets did not address the pitching situation. They knew about Degrom and didn't step up and land Barios from the twins. This now is the new problem. No Degrom no chance without insurance. I think Zack Scott showed his lack of experience and fell very short at the deadline. I listened to his explanation and it seemed canned and PR driven. Very unhappy. Nothing against Baez but this is not what they needed or enough of what they need. Not even a good BP arm was obtained.

Awful trade…. Doesn’t make us any better than the Dodgers and there’s a lot of IF’s headed into the last 60 games of the season. We can’t beat the Braves and at times the Phillies make us look like a single A team…… could really care less about the Mets giving up a prospect…. He’s going to be another Kelenic.. all hype and doesn’t produce.

I love my compatriot JAVY BAEZ, but the Mets front office is as usual LOST IN SPACE. First they went the other way when the ROCKIES offered ARENADO. They didn't do enough to acquire a good starting pitcher. KRIS BRYANT would have been a better fit. That's because the Mets front office is suffering from the WILPON SYNDROME.

I love this trade! We get what we needed and don’t lose a lot in the process! But I’m curious to see what the Mets do when lindor returns like do they have Baez split time with McNeil at second for the ability to turn the DP better. or do they put him at third and split time with Davis! Or do they put Baez at one of those positions permanently and move McNeil or Davis to the outfield
