Actually there were 3 climaxes in this novel, in chapter 2, 12, 23!
As well as 2 sub-climaxes in chapters 7, 17 ..
Also, as for the part of Hester and Chillingworth, we are already told that Hester never ever loved Chillingworth and that's in chapter 4. (The Interview).
