Guyana's economy has doubled in over the last few years with the discovery of a new oil reserve of their coast in the Atlantic Ocean. Guyana's GDP is now expected to grow by 300% over the next 6 years, and are looking to become one of the richest countries in Latin America. Because of this oil boom, Guyana is now putting in strong efforts to improve their society through the development of new infrastructure and clean energy.

The Guyanese government are expected to get $11 billion from the oil export earnings, which is already larger than their overall GDP. Becuase of these exports, Guyana is set to become Latin America's top oil producer.

Just FYI, Guyana is not tiny. It is bigger than Belarus, which is Europe's 13th biggest country. Also, it is the 83rd biggest country in the world, so it is an above average sized country. :)

Guyana GDP is currently above 16 billion as of 2023. It has a per capita income above $19k and will probably see $30-35k by 2030. Basically 5-6 times what it was prior to 2020..
