Someone Gets Hurt (Reprise) // OC Animatic

I tried a new style for animatics bc the other one got kinda uncomfortable to draw in, and it turns out switching up workflow has benefits?? This only took me two days instead of the usual weeks so yeah I’ll definitely continue to mess around with this style more

Alsooo I’ve been listening to the Mean Girls soundtrack off and on for the past few weeks bc I saw the musical at the beginning of the month, and when relistening to this song I happened to also fix a massive plothole in my OC story’s climax and I thought the song fit the moment well :)

Basically Shaylee’s Mom (being the tasty toxic parent that she is) convinced Shaylee that Brysen was only teaching her to get some credit for a school that he wants to go to. And Shaylee, being naive towards her Mom’s behavior and a little unsure of Brysen, believed this and confronted him for it (aka what happens in this video). She’s really hurt over this bc Brysen’s friendship has a lot of value to her due to him being one of her first real friends, and she was actually beginning to like him if ya know what I mean wink wonk. Of course, Brysen wasn’t actually using her for personal benefits, it was all a setup. There’s a lot more to this but tbh I’m still kinda figuring it out lol
