I've read the book that much of this game is based on "The Longest Winter" by Alex Kershaw and the mechanic of phases is based on historical tactical charges or pushes. When the enemy calls it, then everyone would pull back and regroup. So, there is that anti-climactic time for everyone to breathe where maybe for some, this takes away from gameplay (but I guarantee the repreive was much appreciated by those who fought in the holes).

In what part of the game is the intelligence track used? I look for it in the manual but I can't find it? What use is it given?

Have all the games so far. This one seems the easiest to win. Great looking map but some of the tokens are a little small. Good game and review.

If I was color-blind, I'd hate the game. The colors seem to be the same.
