Situated next to the River Rhine just a stones throw south of Koblenz and on the Left side trunk route from Koln (Cologne) to Frankfurt, dedicated mainly to freight traffic as the opposite side to the Rhine was mainly for Express passenger trains. A rather damp day did not put off the variety of traffic seen all being overlooked by the magnificent 12th century Marksburg Castle on top of the nearby hill. DB Class 141 locomotives "Push/Pull" formation were in charge of most of the frequent stopping passenger services and a selection of other DB AC Electric Locomotives in charge of freight traffic. Enjoy the beautiful scenery albeit the weather was not perfect.
I do hope this video entertains and evokes old fond memories of the European Railway Scene of the era.
I hope you enjoy the series and if you are familiar with the area featured, feel free to comment and if you do like the clip please subscribe and Like.
