Fonias Gorge in Samothraki after the Rain

The 7th of August 2014, a great storm raged across
Samothraki.The rain was heavy and lasted for hours,
so the streams became flooded.Next morning we
headed to Fonias stream.The flood receded, but
still the water was like double the normal.

I have descended fonias multiple times (doing canyoning) and I can tell you this is not double the water, it's about quadruple the normal august flow.

Beautiful guys, but I wanted to add that the hiking is not easy at all to get up there, unless if you're an experienced hiker. There is a reason why the canyon is named fonias (killer) and we have to respect the elements of nature. What you did going up there while in this rainy weather, was quite risky. If it started raining again the stream would have taken you straight to the bottom of the sea.
