I think that by the End or even in the future, they'll be either the New Avengers( they are an already formed team while the old ones are either dead or going through retirement/solo adventures), like how the original Thunderbolts team was formed at a time when the avengers were either dead or away, or they'll be the Secret Avengers, since their mostly assassin's and mercenary, taking the more black opps approach, like most iterations of the team do.

We waited so long for the avengers tower to return, I’m so happy

Having Norman Osborn assemble them and serve as a dark version of Tony Stark would’ve been perfect.
And it would’ve been great to see Spidey deal with the new version.

this is nowhere close to "dark avengers" storyline. Just because it has Sentry in it + bad guy putting together a team (Valentina / Osborn) - similiarities end there. Its nowhere close. Its like people claiming Wandavision was "House of M" adaptation, when its so not it. Its adaptation of much earlier storyline. Same here. Would love a setup for Dark Avengers with Sentry, but thats story for another movie.

By the end, they will have become the 'Dark Avengers' or 'Secret Avengers', while in the post-credit scene, we will see Baron Zemo gathering a meeting with some other supervillains from MCU past, teasing the creation of the 'real' Thunderbolts. I'm calling it now.

Could be the other way around. Valentina might label them something Avengers-y and they might spend the whole movie trying to think of a better name and ultimately semi-agree on Thunderbolts.

There's also this thing in the comics where the thunderbolts change their name into the redeemers...also Norman didn't exactly turn the thunderbolts into the dark avengers cuz yeah moonstone was there but the others had nothing to do with the thunderbolts: daken, bullseye, scorpion

"A lot less heroic?" Excuse me? Do not talk that way about my boy, Bucky. He is very much a hero.

I wonder why they cut Zemo from the team?

this movie looks like it has heart, watching the capt 4 trailer and you could clearly see the quality difference with writing and special effects

I don't think "Dark" Avengers will sell them as heroes--- as much as just calling them "Avengers"-- going with a brand that already has trust. I think they'll be called the Avengers at the end.

Could be Wilson Fisk that turns them into the Dark Avengers. Osborne didn't seem to exist in the MCU reality or at least wasn't crazy.

I'm sure the trailer has some editing, and Bucky's "we can't use that name" probably isn't in response to Red Guardian yelling out "Thunderbolts!".

That said, I think you're right. But it's also going to be bigger than that.

The end will probably have them take the (Dark) Avengers name. Probably New Avengers. Then they'll reveal that Valentina has been working with Zero the whole time, with him stepping into Osborn's role from the comics.

Not only will this be a way to set up a clash between the New Avengers and whats left of the Old Avengers, but its laying one of the final pieces needed for the Young Avengers to form together.

The mention at 0:32 of the mysterious ASTERISK got me imagining a character by that name.
Who is he? Why does he appear inconspicuously when you finish certain statements?
Just what does he have to add to the enigma? 😂

Kinda weird that the team seems to have no affiliation with Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross and I question how this team filled with ex assassins and controversial characters would be accepted as "new" avengers. At least in the comics the Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers hid their criminal identities in order to fit in.

I don’t understand why they would choose to call themselves Dark Avengers over Thunderbolts.

...yeah except in comics it was an amazing event that happened across multiple years. And line-up was so much better, with Wolveine's son, Venom and Bullseye instead of a bunch of literallywhos

I’m been seeing comments saying it’s “basically Marvel’s Suicide Sqaud” or recently “The Leftovers.” I guess it’s understandable for the general perspective but feared it be an over generalization, mostly due to constant comparisons that reached a wider audience or from those who’s honesty sounding jaded. I just hope they can really stand out; a group of former criminals set by the government to do good deeds (although the team has a history of going back and forth) compare to Task Force X is summed up by a group of criminals against their will to take on missions with slim chances of survival.

So far I predict the name has a double meaning, including the asterisk; Val set up her team the somewhat resembling the original Avengers for a beta test, and the name be changed for the world but at the same time will attempt to dispose them for replacement. Thus, the team that has been rejected had to fight for their livelihood.
