The fish-shaped cake I had this time is called taiyaki.
Tai means "sea bream" in Japanese, and yaki means "burn.

This time the taiyakis were served freshly baked, and they really were delicious!

Thank you for watching!

I love the opening to this video: That immaculate street; one of the shop workers removing two tiny specks of litter from outside their business. I bet that alleyway looks beautiful when lit up at night. I love the ingenious practicality of the set-up for cooking Taiyaki, and the definition in the pattern grafting of the scales on the cake. What a great place.

The festivals we have here usually have a taiyaki vendor and they are so yummy. I have only ever had red bean flavor though
