For backgrounds: If u have like frogs or species that climb alot, doing the spray foam method is gives u more ways to enrich the enclosure. You can add wood, cork, or even make ledges out of chunks of foam!

You guys have to see the sweet piece of wood I found. It’s like a completely dried out hollow half-log with a cool knot-hole in the top. But it’s absolutely massive so I’m saving it for the perfect future build.

I’m really Happy you decided to use it lol. The whole time I’m thinking “it’s to pretty not to be used!”

Protp if you have one of those plastic hides, you can bury it in the substrate to hide the ugly and to simulate a burrow.

I laughed so hard watching this! The way you talk and describe things along with the editing, is just great! My Ball Pythons need the plastic hides because I have to put something heavy on top of them or they don’t stay down. I’ve got two 4x2x2 enclosures coming soon and I can’t wait to try something different for the hides. Another great video!!🐍❤️🐍

hey tyler. one great thing you can do with plastic hides or plastic storage containers of various size, is make an under soil burrow type hide. this makes it so they have multiple types of hides and it wont collapes. I make connected hides this way under soil or stacked etc. it helps build up the landscape too reducing the soil you need
if you take wood fomr outside dry it then bake it to remove potential bad things..

I totally agree with what you were saying about plants thriving in enclosures. My plants always do so well in all of my bioactive tanks! The only reason they ever die is if they get trampled by my bigger animals.

I put my sand boa in all sand and she does just fine. I think people get stuck on the idea that they have to feed the snake in its enclosure every time to not stress it out or for other reasons. I almost always take mine out. Sometimes they eat better if not taken out, but definitely don’t have to worry about impaction if you just feed them in a separate container.

Don't forget to create a drainage layer. It's vital if you're gonna use live plants.

Zoo Med has a new(ish) substrate: Excavator Clay that is awesome for making natural looking stone caves and whatnot. It molds like wet play sand and then dries hard and stands up to high heat and frequent misting. I made a hide for my leopard gecko using an old soup can to hold the shape while it dried. She loves it!

You should go check out my tegu enclosure and my ackie enclosure. Both grow tents but they clean they clean 😂. I know there are tent haters. But they work so well.

Jungle Dawn lights aren't _that_ expensive. I got the 22W, 18 inches, for around $70, from some chain pet store. Can't remember, ordered online. At that price, compared to biodudes and neherp, it's pretty competitive, imo. Great work, Tyler. I love your channel. You really crack me up sometimes lol

Where did you get the black out cling wrap. I didn’t see it in the description or linked.

I got him so many plants and he managed to smoosh or drown all but one of them (he likes to flip his water bowls) within the first year.
That one pothos is holding on to the foam wall for dear life tho

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that you have to heat anything to a certain degree that you bring outside to inside regardless of looks. I'm hardly a expert tho, so I'm here to learn. Love your content lots ❤
