Every month I am looking forward to this video. Thank you very much guys! I think I have to have a look at Books of Time 😉

Mottainai is a new favorite of mine. Supposedly, it streamlines Innovation and Glory To Rome, but I don't know much about those. It's a big crunchy game in a deck of 54 cards, and normally plays in 30 minutes, but it takes 2 or 3 games to unbend your brain, and play it smoothly. Learning to play it has been part of the fun.

It’s always hard to choose a favorite. Top contenders this month were Bitoku, Lost Ruins of Arnak, Imperial Settlers Empires of the North and Planet Unknown

ok, ok - we get it - find Books of Time. But my teacher wife wants Glom for her class. Where can it be found?
My favorite game to play was AbDucktion - which I just got on Kickstarter. But I went to a family reunion and Lucky Numbers was definitely the consensus favorite. It was always on the table.

I was skeptical when I saw the first Books of Time play through, because I thought the "book" was just a gimmick that was essentially a rondel. But as I watched more, I appreciated that this is where innovations come from in gaming. How to make a rondel that changes during the course of play? The book format actually gives the rondel new possibilities that you would have trouble implementing in other ways. Best game I've played this month is Concordia. Talk about an older one.
