I love these Korg VSTs. The Wavestation is still amazing and the M1 sounds are classic, even after 35 years!

The M1 is incredible. All the sounds seem a bit corny or underwhelming at first. But in a mix or layered they instantly give a track so much character. Korg and Yamaha stuff also always mixes so easily.

Yeah it is kind of a must have. I love that miniKorg for all those authentic Cars patches I can play live.

I discovered these Korg programs about 2 years ago. My ears sold them to me. They sounded so much like a collection of hardware that I could never afford nor fit into my studio. Powerful stuff!!!

I agree! ive been using this package for about 6 years now, and yes, i dont buy synths anymore BECAUSE of the korg package, it simply does the job i need it to.

It's a great collection, had mine for years. I use my 30+ year old Korg X3 as the midi controller. 😎👍

Korg's stuff is criminally underrated. The new Arp 2600 plugin sounds insane. Their old Wavestation plugin still slaps after all these years.

So happy for your re-discovery! 😊 You’re spot-on: I’ve owned the collection for years - it’s transitioned into a must have. Their recent little low-cost side-chain adventure (Wavestate/modwave/op6) and the new poly hardware were concurrently dev’d in conjunction with natively running software counterparts - it honestly feels like a sleeping giant has recently awoke; fully embracing both the hardware and software side of the music device market. Also don’t forget iOS (iPad and iPhone!) support; AND polyphony(!) added to their software emulations of the OG hardware

The music forum KVR they have thread dedicated to old vst freeware. Some absolute gold there; especially the ones from developers whose projects failed and they discretion their plug ins.

I have had the Korg Legacy Collection since 2004. I just moved it over to a different PC and all I had to do was get the 64bit version. My favorite is the Wavestation.

I’ve actually heard these talked about a lot recently. The ms-20 has some really good presets

Have had them for a long time. They are amazing, especially the MS-20. Thanks for the great video reminder.

Totally agree with you. I had some of the old VSTs (MonoPoly, MS20, Polysix, MDE) and upgraded to Collection 5 last year.

Info: Splice has a rent-to-own offer for this collection.

The old MS20 was already so well modeled that the audio feedback trick, when you route the audio output to the audio processor input of the synth, worked very well. Great vid, cheers.

I also agree that people can create any genre of great music without new synth if he or she has enough skill. Even 80s 90s synths still contribute a lot for modern music production.

Got the collection some time ago and it is such a hidden gem, I actually prefer the vst version of the microkorg waaaay more (plus you get to skip those keys)

I love this collection.... I've had it for a few years now.... It's fantastic!! They need to figure out how to market it better. Thanks for the demonstration...

I love Korg. Have these. Thank you for reminding me to dig into them again

You've inspired me to look again at MS-20 - and you're right! The included presets are pretty boring, BUT, if you dig into the filters and settings (as you mention), there's actually an incredible sound engine in there - thanks.
