Read a few posts from your AU and I think it's unique
Duck being a homeless person who was turned into a puppet or put inside of a puppet makes sense with the whole "I don't need a family" since David thought the man wouldn't be missed (which explains why Duck might not think he needs a family even if the AU alters a lot of things)
And red being someone who worked backstage fits with his position being covered in plugs as well as literally being out of sight shows he really didn't like the spotlight (and a reference to the original series)
All in all, you made a great AU, keep up the good work!

This seems to be inspired from MatPat’s new Dhmis theory, where Lesley and Roy were parents of their son David, who tragically died in a car accident. Lesley created yellow guy to replicate David, and gave him friends and a fun world to live in so she could teach him all the lessons David would’ve learned if he were alive. However, as Lesley is still grief strucken and yellow guy will never be david, her bad thoughts seep in and that’s why everything ends up with that hellish twist.

In this au, this time Roy and Lesley are the ones that died, and David takes the place of Lesley. David also persuades a friend to join him in his crazy project, who ends up in his world as Red Guy, sacrificing time, sleep and sanity for the sake of helping David run this project. (Why? Not sure. Maybe they could just be really good friends, or Red realizes these are actual lives of people he has in the palm of his hand and wants a cut of the action.) Ok I’m boutta check the creator’s tumblr bc I need to know where tf duck went
