I design a programming adaptor for the Ebyte E32 LoRa module, to allow programming from a common USB to Serial adaptor.

I also discuss an issue I had with some of the modules themselves, which may help people that have a problem with corrupted data being produced by the Ebyte E32 receiver.

Worth considering that MCU baud rates divided down from their CLK are not exact. Some are more accurate than others and can be almost unusable. MCU datasheets usually have a table for this....i.e. ATMEGA1284 @ 8Mhz the closest you'll get to a standard 230.4kbaud rate is within 8.5%,
57.6kbaud will be 2.1%,
19.2kbaud will be 0.2%.
....so choose the wrong CLK versus required BAUD might result in comms that doesn't work.

I know that is a silly question but do you look at the Gerber's before sending them off, this is a simple operation that keeps egg of ones face.

ERC/DRC check at very last minute should have caught that pad short.
Easily done mind you on such a simple layout.

Do you use the in built watchdog as as this can cause issues with programming, On some chips it can still run in the background even while your programing it. so increase the size of the code and it can start to fail on programing if the watchdog kicks the reset. faster baud rate and programing is over before before the watchdog times out. been there and been it by that.
Just a thought.
