Dead Sailor jump. The jump lip pushed harder than the rider's legs. Great way to break your ribs and collapse your lungs. Don't do this!

I used to do this as a kid BMX style. Now I am getting into mtb and and I can't understand how people launch and land with the suspension. It's 99% my older brain not wanting to send it but .. the extra travel fucks me up

this always happens to me. the trick is to only do small jumps you can always land nose heavy without dying, when you have poor technique ;)

A lot of these comments show just why this is so common. Don’t get me wrong it happens to everyone at some point. Flat pedals would not change wheather or not this occurred, it’s 100 percent failure to compress the fork into the face of the jump.
