In Bengal, the role of the CEC and his much hyped support teams was not up to the expectations. Fear factors worked across the state. And post poll reality has revealed that the main opposition party, the BJP is not organistionally strong, full of fault lines, factional feud. But, the positive take away from the recently held crucial polls, the urban voters have voted against Trinamool excepting the urban poor who voted wholeheartedly for Mamata's party. In her own South Kolkata assembly constituency TMC has fared poorly. Many urban tax paying voters didn't vote, or a sizable section of them has opted for Nota. Percentage of Nota voting is larger than CPI, the second important stakeholder in the once very powerful Left Front. And last but not the least, the Muslim voters, as always, have voted strategically for Mamata, their perceived messiah.
