Why should he be briefed before hand? He's not involved in State legal cases.
This is in complete contrast to Jim Jordan who attempted to intervene with his sub committee which is Federal into a State prosecution, this being completely illegal and Jordan not having any jurisdiction in the matter. He has subsequently been told by the New York's DA office that he should stop interfering in a court case that the sub committee has no jurisdiction over.
