What is the #Dutch #economy based on? Why is #Netherlands' #Economy so strong? The 2022 Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) from the World Economic Forum ranked the Netherlands' 6th competitive economy in Europe. The GCI Report ranked 140 economies, which together make up 99 percent of the world's GDP, based on 103 different factors: institutions, infrastructure, use of information and communication technology (ICT), macroeconomic stability, health, skills, product market, labor market, financial system, size of the market, business activity, and ability to innovate. So what's the secret?

Starting With Secret number One International Trade:

#TheNetherlands knows that international trade is a key part of economic growth for everyone. As a major trader around the world, the Netherlands wants to see trade barriers come down to increase economic opportunities, raise living standards, and reduce poverty around the world. On the 2019 Global Innovation Index (GII), the Netherlands comes in at number 6. It is at the top of other rankings, as the European Innovation Scoreboard, and has innovation hubs all over the country, such as the European Space Agency, TNO, Brainport Eindhoven, universities, and well-known technical schools.

The next Secret on the list is Innovation:

The Netherlands has one of the most open economies in the world and is one of the best countries for technology and innovation. It has great infrastructure, including Europe's biggest port, a good business environment, and a strong network of treaties.

The Dutch tax system has a number of tax breaks that encourage innovation and business. Since the Netherlands is open to the rest of the world, it has a lot of foreign workers with advanced degrees. The Netherlands has a good business climate because of many things, such as its openness to the rest of the world, its strategic location in Europe, its educated, multilingual, and flexible workforce, and its high level of labor productivity.

Except for quite a few mistakes (Erasmus painter!?? Tisto = Tiesto, and more) nice and informative. And you forgot the cherry on the pudding: 2nd in agriculture, while being not even in the top 30 of land mass. ;)

I live here, i do not recognise this version of the Netherlands at all and i think a lot of people with me. Sure these industries en developments are here, but that does not influence a big part of the country or the people. It's a small group of people who benefit from these industries. A larger group of Dutch people work in different parts of the society and they do not benefit so much of this wealth.
