Simon used to own Crystal Palace you know.

There’s more to football than dribbling, Zaha was a phenomenal dribbler but so was Saint Maximim .

Should he have been at Madrid too? 🤦‍♂️

What a lot of people don’t understand is how influential Wilfred Zaha was for palace in his 8 years. For him to pull the statistics he did, with the likes of Dwight Gayle, James McArthur, Joe Ledley & Connor Wickham (I can presume a lot of people don’t even know who these people are) is incredible. I guarantee if you put any single player from one of the current top 6 EPL teams, in a crystal palace 2013-2020 team, you wouldn’t even notice them there.

Delusional. Yes he was a great player for palace but he was never good enough for madrid

I remember Pep Guardiola once saying he didn't buy a player for his athletic ability, but his brain, the decision making on the pitch. I remember watching the FA cup final between Crystal Palace and Man U. Bolasie and Zaha versus Giggs etc. There was a gulf in Match IQ between those players. It was only when comparing directly you could clearly see it. It was clear they were 'mid tier' players. Bolasie and Zaha constantly chose the wrong pass or ran down blind alleys failing to release the ball at the right time. Dribbling and flashy tricks flatter players.

Think people forget how much potential he had as a kid, he was electric

4:17 What is he talking about?

Zaha only played 40 minutes of Premier League football for United, so he didn't have the opportunity to show whether or not he was out of his depth.

Zaha was United's best winger in pre-season and the only reason he didn't get the chance to make it at United was because the useless David Moyes had some personal issue with him.

If Fergie hadn't been allowed to pick his successor and United had appointed a top manager instead, then I'm pretty sure Zaha would've been a success at United.

I'm a Palace fan. Zaha is a great player, but Real Madrid?! No.

Simon, as insightful as he can be on a lot of things, leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to what actually happens on the pitch. Zaha is your typical flashy winger, a lot of skills, very low football intelligence.

I think Wilfred Zaha is quality. But unfortunately the numbers don’t match the hype. Look at Solanke last season - 19 goals for Bournemouth. Zaha has a good outlook, good skill and quality. But think a team like Spurs would be the highest he could go

Simon with his Palace blinkers on here.
Zaha could’ve played at a higher level than palace but there are two or three more again before you get anywhere near Real Madrid of the past 20 years
If he was as good as Simon thinks he wouldn’t have left Utd
Obviously it’s conjecture and we’ll never know but I can’t see how he constantly says Grealish isn’t good enough for City, yet he was arguably better & more consistent at Villa than what Zaha has been at Palace

So delusional, go to Real Madrid and do what? He doesn’t start ahead of Ronaldo, bale or benzima who Madrid had at the time.

Great player that didn’t shine at Man U. It’s surprising that Galatasaray were prepared to pay him more than any Premier League club were. He’s 32 in November so he’ll probably end up at Palace, West Ham or one of the promoted teams.

Love the player but always felt he would take the hardest way to the goal. He also seem like a player that if you roughed him up a bit he would lose focus. Love to see him back in the Prem.
