Nonprofits often engage in advocacy campaigns, whether with respect to mission-critical issues and/or on behalf of their client populations. The IRS has important rules surrounding what 501(c)(3) nonprofits can and cannot do in their advocacy and political work.

Designed for both nonprofits that are actively engaged in advocacy projects and those who are considering doing so for the first time, this webinar will provide a basic introduction to:
• The scope of non-restricted issue advocacy for nonprofits,
• Permissible lobbying activity and lobbying limitations, and
• The IRS's absolute prohibition on political intervention.

Join Jason Qu, Managing Attorney at the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, for this webinar.

Can a nonprofit engage in local and state legislation like house bills? Im not asking about political candidates but certain legislations. Also can a nonprofit serve as a special interest of the city and be city interest driven?
