How Ultimate Team Ruined Madden

The Madden NFL games used to be awesome, even comparable with the great NFL 2K5. The Ultimate Team, or MUT, came and ruined everything. Because of how profitable underage gambling is, EA stopped paying attention to the rest of the game, which is why it's in the state it's in now. That, and the exclusive license with the NFL. Ugh. Franchise mode will likely never be good again. Madden NFL 20 sucks

My football coaches used to preach every day at practice, "you either get better, or you get worse. It's impossible to stay the same". Madden has definitely gotten worse.

After DECADES of buying Madden every year, and being sucked into Ultimate Team for the last 6 years, I finally quit and traded in Madden 20.
I was playing in practice mode to work on some routes and while in replay mode I noticed the stands for the practice field still had the Madden 19 logo on didn't even bother to change it when they were copy/pasting the code from last year's game.
I have never felt like more of a tool, or more disappointed in myself. It was sickening.

Custom stadiums
Old NFL films music along with songs that actually fit into three game and allow me to stop certain songs from playing

I’m frustrated with my younger self for not savoring the great ncaa and madden games. I didn’t understand how lucky I was with the great madden and NCAA games until they want down this dark path. What a joke of a company EA is and It’s sad but I doubt I will ever buy another madden again.

I have a friend who didn’t start playing Madden until 16 and whenever I say how trash madden is now he always says I’m overreacting and it’s not. Then when I bring up all the old features that’s not in the game he says that’s irrelevant and nobody cares about that stuff. These companies already have people by the balls who just settle for just playing online matches instead of a full football experience that they had damn near 20 years ago. It’s so frustrating

It's one thing if a developer focuses primarily on micro transactions. It's another if they have a monopoly and do it.

As a madden player who has only played madden since 16, thank you for shining light on the situation. You tubers like you are the reason I know what I have been missing. I have always noticed madden seemed to get boring really fast, and now I know why. I never played ultimate team, and I’m blessed that I haven’t decided to try it.
