Your doin it the right way if you ask me. Most people fail on the saddle, by gettin one off the net and slappin it on. The biggest tell-tail of a garage build is saddle gap. And all garage builds should look like they came outta the factory. Keep her lit love your work!

Should definitely try and have the seat and tank as seamless as possible, it looks great and sleek as hell. The bike looks better and better after every episode. Keep it up👍.

I like the look of a close fit, but it’s always tough to get a perfect fit and finish with a custom build.

You have great attention to detail. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

That seat edge up to the tank came out great.

I watched my buddy Phillip Cato when he lived and worked on a shop in the town over from me doing foam work and I couldn't vision the shape but he sure did. Now he's a big TV star but still a killer upholstery builder.

Another awesome vid! I bet there’s nothing that you can’t build!

As always great video. The issue I can think of is when you sit on the bike, the foam tends to pull the seat back a bit and then you get a gap. If static then seamless is the nicer option.

Whooops! You killed the cat with a piece of flying foam! :-) Well looks says go for the tight solution....but riding wise...time will tell that a gap is the right path to choose. I know it's a bit tricky to make the lines "jump" from one thing to another. But remember, when you find it difficult to see, two steps back will help you back on track again.

You’re a maestro, Dan! I like the seamless tank to seat look a bit more. Did I see a bit of foam fly off? Bike is shaping up nice!

You should allow enough of a gap between seat pan and tank to allow cover material to wrap around front of pan leaving a small even gap to the tank otherwise vibration and movement will end up cutting/wearing through the cover.

The married seat with the gas tank i like what you did with it, i see harleys that are just plane bare with the eat and about 4 inches of frame showing between the seat and gas tank definitely don't like that look, always prefer the married seat and gas tank look, it gives it a more smooth sleek look. 🤙🏼

second surprise today, I figured for making your seat you'd do like the manufacturer's do and pour the expandable liquid foam into some fancy custom made seat

Try spraying the glue with a cheap air gun. Uses a lot less glue and drys quick. Love ya work 👍🏻

Ik you haven't finished your other two bikes but a dirt tracker Moto Guzzi would be the coolest thing, and I like the idea of using two different layers of foam.

I personally prefer a gap, I have tried something similar to what you are trying on cx500 cafe racer build where a made the seat pan rear hump and a small hump at the front on the seat to mould into the tank from layered marine ply. It was my interpretation of a theme borrowed from a Riviera speedboat....
