If you can't field strip a shield you shouldn't try to take any gun apart. Doesn't get much easier

I’m 6’4” & wear 3XL motorcycle gloves. The S&W Shield Plus fits my hand just fine. I’ve owned it for over a year, taken it to the gun range a couple of dozen times and fired well over a 1, 500 rounds through it. I bought it on recommendation from Chris, the Honest Outlaw guy on YouTube; he’s also 6’4” and has big hands. For conceal carry, the Plus has proven to be an accurate, comfortable, reliable, & safe defense tool.

I've been retired from the Chicago Police Department for 19 yrs, after 35 yrs of service. I found the Plus a great conceal carry, easy to clean and carry, with plenty of stopping power with a large verity of rounds to choose from.

I agree with your review of the Shield Plus, except for your section about field stripping the weapon. It can't get much easier. I'm a retired LEO and 73 years old. No problem with the take down lever.

Love this gun. It is the first and only I currently own.

10 rd mag for carry, 13 rd for home defense.

I train with it 2-3 times a month and shoot it better than most do with full sized pistols. But I am always better with the 13 rd mag

I won this gun earlier this year, I didn’t think I would keep it until I took it to the range. The gun shoots any ammunition without jams, I have had other short barrel pistols before and just couldn’t hit well (large hands) no problem with this gun and the 13 rd magazine. I find the takedown and assembly of this gun easy. I’m keeping it

I own the M&P 9 Shield Plus Performance Center model and it doesn’t get any better. I can shoot it better than any of my other pistols. The barrel and slide are ported which reduces recoil. Great gun! I do not find the takedown difficult at all and I’m very surprised you do. Are you a newbie to shooting?

I absolutely love my MP9 Shield Plus. I have a smaller hand and feels perfect. Recoil is manageable and performance seems better than my Glock 43. Hard to beat this weapon!

I bought the SHIELD 2.0 as my first handgun. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Put tritium sights on it and put well over 3, 000 rounds thru it in just over 1 year. When the SHIELD PLUS came out, I sold the SHIELD 2.0 to my friend and bought the SHIELD PLUS. I was so IMPRESSED with this handgun I went out and bought the SHIELD 2.0 45acp!!!!
Both are EXCELLENT defensive firearms!!!! 10 out of 10!!!

I’ve shot every micro compact 9mm, and the Shield plus is the least snappy and easiest to take down. It also has a 15 round mag, which is constantly ignored in reviews.

I went to buy a Taurus g3c, then I considered the p365, and left with a shield plus and have no regrets.

It’s not the smallest for concealment, but being 6ft tall I need something that is not too small in my hand.

I’m a Glock guy at heart, but S&W knocked it out of the park when they came out with the Shield, when Glock came out with the 42 .380 ( wth ? ). I bought a Shield PC in 9mm and never looked back . Now my EDC is the Shield Plus

Shield plus is currently the best micro compact on the market. Compared to every other mainstream choice its the SOFTEST shooting, has the BEST trigger, is arguably the most reliable and you can buy one now for 300 after rebate. When it comes to field stripping its stupid easy compared to others. It takes down just like a sig. Glocks and Walthers are easy too once you do it a few times. I will agree the aftermarket is rather lacking BUT other than upgrading my sights I can't see any other upgrading being necessary. ALSO - You can now use m&p equalizer 15rd magazines with the shield plus.... 16 rounds in a TINY TINY package. The equalizer magazine sticks out maybe half an inch further than the 13rd magazine. Also, I have massive hands, like XXL size hands. The 10rd mags can be challenging with grip BUT just carry with the 13rd or equalizer 15rd mag and your hand will fit perfectly. I tested accuracy from a benchrest at 25 yards vs sig 365, hellcat pro, glock 43x & cz p10. The shield and the cz gave almost equal groups and tied for first. It's crazy how accurate such a tiny little barrel can be!

I bought the first edition Shield. Love it. When the Shield Plus came out I fought the urge to buy for a year then weakened with an onsale price and bought one. It is a great gun my every day carry. I have replaced my Sigs.

P365 is always evolving, I love the P365X and the M&P is a great gun at a value price. It is super easy to field strip…not sure why it is tough for you.

After leaving NK York to Florida this was the very first one I purchased and love it.
