Ever since I heard the devs say they wanted a hero with weapon switching similar to mercy, it completely changed my perspective on him and I actually started winning. He's a complete healbot. You stay in the backlines sniping teammates with your heal, and pulling when they get low.
You save your platform for when you get dived as most heroes just can't reach you. It's not the most fun gameplay, but it works
