#GETstrong Diagonal Four Cones Agility Drill

Показать описание
#GETstrong DIAGONAL FOUR CONES DRILL Pg 92 of the Goodman book Hockey Anatomy. HOCKEY FOCUS This movement is a small-space, multidirectional pattern drill as well as a footwork drill. The ability to move one’s feet and pivot quickly on the ice to accelerate or change direction is vital. This drill also emphasizes lateral movement, which develops a low center of gravity in conjunction with hip movement to create speed coming out of the turns. GOALIES This is a critical drill when you need to come out to the corner of the crease and move laterally to change angles so you can see and stop a puck. It is also important for your post-to-post lateral push-offs.
1)Set out four cones to create a square with sides 10 yards (9m) long (the square could be smaller for a quicker change-of-direction drill._ 2)Start at one corner and sprint diagonally to the opposite corner.
3)Shuffle across the top of the box.
4)Pivot in toward the box and sprint diagonally to the cone opposite the starting cone.
5)Shuffle across to the start.
6)Repeat, but this time pivot away from the box at the top of the square before sprinting diagonally to the lower cone opposite the starting cone.
