The BMW X6 started the bent-roof SUV ‘coupe’ trend back in 2008, but is the original still the best?

To find out, we dragged the facelifted 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe into the ring to spar with the recently-updated 2023 BMW X6 xDrive 40i to see which is the better overall luxury vehicle.

The Porsche will almost certainly outpace the BMW in terms of driving dynamics but there’s more to SUVs than just their ability to surprise and delight customers on a winding coastal road.

Why CarPlay localization isn’t working at all in the facelift X6 ? You have mentioned that it’s work well ? Did you tested during the road ?? 😅😅😅

My first car was an X6, the active hybrid version then the 5.0 V8. Loved love love to this day. I now Drive the Macan T… entry level to Lots he and is absolutely FUN to drive with sport chronograph. It is a bit to slow for me and currently considering the Cayenne S since it’s in V8 form once again. I’d love to see the Cayenne S vs the X6M. Because BMW is cheaper and accelerates faster I’d want the X6, but I do love the Porsche prestige.

Hard to ignore the looks - and the BMW pulls ahead, inside and out. Realizing that you'd have so much extra cash to dress it up, and or consider the M if you want the harder/sportier ride in a daily driver...and get 3 years of basic service included, I don't see the additional value. Especially when the future maintenance is considered. I dare say the X6 is more rare than the Cayenne too. Never understand why there aren't more of them, but perhaps that is the point of the limited amounts BMW releases? Both are truly great - but the more athletic, modern, and dare I say menacing look of the BMW. Of course, I may be a little biased ;-)

Yeah, nothing about M Sport differential with M Adaptive Pro Suspension and Integral Active Steering for BMW...
Neither about M Sport Seats with Individual Merino leather.. and the list can go on...
I see no plus for the Cayenne, but at the end it's just a matter of brand preference 😊

I drive an X6 and I can tell I would never change even knowing Porsche Mercedes are amazing too. Choice is choice and I absolutely love BMW all my life and it keeps getting better and better

I drove both the X6, M60i and the Cayenne S, ill tell you that its a tough choice between the 2, Im leaning towards the Cayenne S because I feel its just better in terms of drive, feeling on the road, the sound of the sport exhaust is just amazing, the handling, suspension, and transmission is a dream. BMW does offer a superior free 3 years oil changes or 36k miles and that's a big saving. Their options is also much cheaper compared to the Porsche, The price of the Cayenne S balloons up with all the option but then again, it's a Porshe. Overall, BMW just offers more value for the dollar, and it's faster, so it's a matter of preference and how much you wanna spend. You can't go wrong with either one.

As a former bmw x6 owner and a new porsche cayenne coupe owner I can say porsche is much better driving experience. Bmw just can’t compare to the handling dynamics of a porsche. You already experience this the minute you’re driving. Bmw does better when it comes to the exterior design, but the interior is better on the porsche. It’s classic, minimalistic and everything feels luxury. I don’t get the same from bmw. Don’t get me wrong it’s very nice and comfortable, but bmw just can’t beat the luxury of a porsche.

Why is the steering wheel on the wrong side ?

The X6 does not have as many class level options like the Porsche so of course the base model is better than the base model Cayenne. The Cayenne has the S, GTS, and Turbo Models. The X6 only has the base and M models.
