Even after 10 years of durability testing phones... Manufactures continue to surprise us with new ways phones can break! Today we durability test the new Motorola Razr Phone Plus - also called the Razr 40 Ultra outside the USA. The newest folding phone from Motorola is a beauty to look at - with its wall to wall triple hole punch display on the outside.

Looks like it passed. Still works even with a broken screen and a melted spot on the main screen. Looks like a win of the durability test.

7:06 - "The Razr Plus is still functional, just a little damaged. Aren't we all?" - That was deep but on the point 😂

Overall I think these foldable phones have come a long way in just a short period of time. Excited to see the other generations

Considering most people's phones live in their side pants pocket, having a void under the glass like that would absolutely be a concern in terms of screen breakage especially when sitting down or bumping into something.

Considering the fragility of other foldable phones, I would absolutely say this passed; not flawlessly but better than most!

I posted this as a reply to someone else's comment but wanted to make it more visible to others thinking of purchasing this phone. I can personally say that a crack from pressure on the outside screen IS happening. I had the phone folded inside of a pocket in the rear waistband of my skirt. When I pulled the phone out the outside screen was badly cracked about a finger's-width up from the hinge. I thought maybe the pressure from the pocket zipper pull had pressed against it but it's not possible to have the pull hit the folded phone in the location the crack occurred. There is definitely a give in the glass on the spot where it's cracked so it appears to be a pressure crack. I called Motorola support but without the pricey accident care protection (that I turned down thinking I wouldn't need it and would just pay for a repair caused by a drop) they refuse to help me. I believe this is a defect in the phone that others will experience - a phone should not fail when in a padded pocket! After years of using LG phones I returned to a Motorola thinking the durability would be adequate on this phone, barring drops, of course. Boy was I wrong. Thumbs down to Motorola, and a warning to those who keep the phone in your pocket - pressure against the outside glass towards the hinge area WILL break the glass. Ugh.

Didn't expect it to be able to fold like that.

that front screen still working after all that and having only a couple lines, but still having an easily visible screen was pretty insane. itll be funny to see someone angrily slam a smart phone shut 😂

Thank you for posting this, I was really worried about the direct-flame resistance on this phone, I've lost so many phones to that!

I have been using the RAZR+ now for a couple weeks, and I am definitely impressed with it. Seeing this video made me feel a bit better about the durability too lol

I cannot believe it didn’t give up. What an absolute beast. I’m blown away! This is real progress on folding phones.

As someone who just purchased this phone, I'm glad to see it not fare too badly in durability. Must say, this is quickly becoming my favorite phone ever - even more so than the original Razr back in the day.

The thing best about Jerry is that he doesn't add some annoying background sound and only focus on the phone❤.

My guess is that void behind the small screen is to accomodate the flexible screen when the phone is closed. As you showed when it is closed there's no gap in the hinge side so they've probably added those spaces to avoid pinching the flexible display when it is closed.

This device performed definitely better than the other reviewed fold-screen smartphones in the bend test, props to Motorola for that.

1:54 I agree. I switched to a Nokia 225 4G a little while ago and I have felt so much better.

I just bought this phone a few days ago and I love it. The charging time is absolutely insane. I walked outside for 5 minutes with a dead battery and it was like 20 percent charged when I came in. I bought a case on Amazon for 14 dollars and I'm honestly not too worried about breaking it. I am worried about getting dirt in the hinge though.
