Even if nickelback isn’t the greatest band out there, I will say this is not just my favorite song from them, but one of my favorite songs of all time, mostly because of how it connected with me, especially with the lyrics and performance. It may not be as complex as Leader of Men, Breathe, or Feed the Machine in terms of composition, but I still love it regardless of those flaws. I’ve used it in a lot of my videos, i bought the single, it’s my ringtone, it’s even in my lightsaber! (Yes really.)

This was the only album of theirs I truly connected with and listened to. I can understand the flak Nickelback gets because everyone listens to their later work and hear the same sound over and over. This album is them experimenting with their sound, which makes it far more compelling (to me at least). That and the dark messages in these songs came at the right time in my life to get hooked, so I still have a fondness for this album despite everything else.
