i'm noticing that a lot of peeps don't really understand Ai Di/Chen Yi's relationship as a whole, or Ai Di's romantic feelings for Chen Yi. Ai Di is not a punk - he's a hardened gang member, just like Chen Yi. He sees the world as kill or be killed, generally speaking. Ai Di shrugging off being in prison for 4 years isn't some fake sort of "woo, woo feel sorry for the baby" moment, it is what it is. It's their reality. Thug lyfe, as it were. lol. Ai Di isn't scared of anything - not even their boss or Chen Yi - except his feelings for Chen Yi, and the thought of Chen Yi not returning those feelings. He runs away from Chen Yi's advances because the thought of Chen Yi "playing with his feelings" is scary to Ai Dii, because HE KNOWS HE WOULD LET Chen Yi PLAY WITH HIM. lol Ai Di was reacting like this (post-prison) even before he went to prison. When Chen Yi kissed him and then Ai Di bit Chen Yi's lip in shock and then ran for the exit and was standing there completely brain drained and shook out the door. Ai Di knows that he would let Chen Yi play with him like a toy, and in Ai Di's darkest thoughts he wishes Chen Yi would because he would take anything Chen Yi would be willing to give him regardless of how proud he acts. On the surface he doesn't want to be Chen Yi's second choice or pitty fux but if that's all he can get... he will take what he can get. That's what's so beautiful about the ending when Chen Yi says he can't live (but 1 second) w/o Ai Di, even tho Ai Di knows he COULD live without Chen Yi - but he would destroy the world. And Ai Di says "You like me so much. That's great."
