Dagan checks out the awesome Gibson Les Paul Modern Lite, seen here in it's stunning Rose Gold Satin Finish. The Les Paul Modern Lite embodies the classic style of the Les Paul but with a new, thinner all-mahogany body that is both lighter and well-balanced. The body also features a belly cut on the rear for additional playing comfort. The mahogany neck features a rosewood fretboard and fast-playing SlimTaper profile!

The Les Paul Modern Lite is powered by open-coil 490R and 498T humbucker pickups, which provide a wide range of sonic capabilities that are perfect for any style of music. Available in five attention-grabbing satin nitrocellulose lacquer finishes and for the first time on a Core Les Paul model, each Les Paul Modern Lite also includes a matching headstock, adding to its visual appeal. A soft shell case is also included.

I have this guitar and I love it.

I’m 66 and picked it up about 6 months ago. Learning quickly because I have a lot of time to play.

Wanting a big boy 60’s or 70’s because I like the neck profile.

I had been waiting for this guitar for over 25 years. I’ve had an Epiphone LP-100 from the 90’s (Indonesian version) and it was my main guitar because of its weight and stripped-down nature. The Les Paul Custom Lites have always been interesting to me but I wanted a more studio-like model. The non-filled wood grain satin finish feels like a dream. The dot inlays are nice and understated & the belly carve makes it feel even thinner than my LP-100. The only cosmetic gripe I have is the all-black plastics. I made 2 simple cosmetic mods - Changed the knobs to Gibson silver-topped black knobs and added chrome pickup covers, and now the thing looks as great as it feels to me.

Love Les Pauls! Got my first Gibson Les Paul in 2006 and when I saw this in the shop today, I loved the way it felt! $2000 in Canada... hmmm

Nice concept, I won't hold my breath for the left handed version

Merging the LP and the SG. Sounds like a great idea to me. Love the lightness of the SG plus easier reach to the high threads but prefer the look of a LP plus it's lack of neck dive. Don't like the colours or the satin finish though.

I love mine. Played a gold and a green. It was very tough to decide. They both played and sounded great. Went with the Green. Has a fantastic sound through my marshall or fender blues jr tweed. Best part- i got it for $700 off list at Guitar centers memorial day sale.

Great demo of this fun guitar.

Sounds inbetween a Jr. and a normal LP, it does sound good. The Epi modern was my favorite of the new ones.

I really like these LPs. I wish they just gave us more interesting inlays like stars or something and maybe several pickup configurations?

Love my 2014 Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker (which has the same idea for body construction). Will check these out.

I would’ve been very interested in these if they would’ve come with trapezoid inlays.

Gibson should’ve learned when they tried to put dot inlays on the tribute Les Paul.

It’s so hard to look at these when there are the ltd EC 1000T with evertune bridges and stainless steel frets. All black and gold hardware for the same exact price.

I know these are made in the US, but these decisions to cut the body size and go for a more “modern” look put them in direct competition with LTD who offer more specs on the dollar.

And that’s coming from me, someone who LOVES Gibson les Paul’s so much, but this model just maybe ain’t for me. I will say the rose gold looks killer though and the nitro finish is always nice! Matching headstock is a plus for sure.

For me it’ll all come down to feel though, I’m curious if these will be plekd like the other les Paul’s, if so that would change a lot of things.

Gordon Smith have been doing this for years, at an accessible price and custom built to order too.

I'd love one of these as an always around beater guitar. They feel more woody than some of the LTDs I've tried, which tend to have thick mat finishes. But I wish Gibson would re-release those custom lites the video mentions at the start, not a fan of the "fun" colours personally.

I like the format of these demos by the way, just pumping out a selection of random through a real amp without too much editing.

I love everything about these except the price. Cool vibe for sure - even the dot inlays work for me - gives it a junior vibe which suits the stripped down nature. But that price… it’s about 30% too much. Ah well.

I've owned many Gibson LPs but the one I love the most is the "Less Plus" model from the 2015 range. So I'm definitely gonna give one of these a go

It's a 2014 Melody Maker with humbuckers. At twice the price! A good guitar, just too expensive.

I’m personally a HUGE fan of this release. My back is totally shot, and I can’t play my 50’s Standard any longer. All I WANT is ALL the legendary LP tone without breaking my back! Count me in! 🎸😃👍🏻

I just got one on sale at guitar center for 899! Score!

I played this model yesterday in Fort Wayne, Indiana USA. It screamed….and significantly lighter (and less expensive, not more expensive) than a Les Paul Standard, etc…..
