G3 to G1 with Subharmonics

Kantorei's final recording session - Warming down the low notes for this final session in this nice room before the recording. Working on vocal subharmonics and modal transition starting on G3 down to G1.

Being careful with the transition (singing vowel to vowel, bright, and releasing into subharmonics) will allow for it to be smooth and will carry a full sound.

You can use headphones or a nice subwoofer if you are all about that bass. :D

A is the fundamental frequency of the room. Pay close attention to when he hits A2 and A1, it's much fuller in sound and it resonates through my headphones.

Fun fact:
As we can hear in the video, the resinate frequency of the room is 110Hz [A2]. This means the width of the room here is roughly 1.55 meters or 5 feet.
Here's a formula: 341m/s [The speed of sound] :110Hz [An A2] : 2 [Because the sound goes to the wall and returns] = 1.55 meters:D

You can hear the transition to subharmonic register at C2, at about :14 mark

This might be one of the best things I’ve ever heard

Very nice transition. It doesn't sound at all like a different voice. The only way I could detect it is the very slight delay when you switched.

Most singers I've noticed tend to use leaps to disguise the transition. But you sound like you're playing the same 'instrument" the whole way down.

Oh, I thought it was all in subharmonics. Good voice. I can do subharmonics from C6 to G2 fundamentals, but I've hardly seen anyone use it on high ranges other than by mistake. I think it has its own charm once mastered.

I hope you don't mind me using this in a video I'm creating! I'm giving you credit.THIS IS INCREDIBLE, and I want to help you become known.

Very similar to the ending of one recording of 'Im Tiefen Keller' sung by Rebroff, except that's in F. And he sings all the way down.

When you started sing subharmonic? I was thinking about C2 or only G1, because you have smooth slide

I legit thought this was about the G1 BB gun and the G3 battle rifle until I saw "subharmonic" and the video profile

Hello I'm a big fan of your videos! I have a question for you? how hard is it to learn subharmonics? because the lowest I can hit in chest voice is a B1 and the rest I have to do fire breathing for.
