Ian worked and studied at a bronze casting foundry as a young man, where he learned to create models, armatures, molds and finished sculptural artwork in all mediums and finishes. Ian is fascinated by the artistic process of sculpture. He brings this knowledge to his car customizations, to his Full Custom Garage TV show audience, and now he brings it to you, his growing YouTube audience.

I’ve never seen Ian do so much precision measuring, with a yard stick no less. I like the change of pace and project. I’m guessing the big announcement is that Ian will be performing 1 man fabricating show in Vegas while Jamie treats emergency patients with videos of the dogs and wild space music in the Sphere. Looking forward to the costumes

Thank you so much Jamie for your detailed camerawork and tight editing. The intelligent questions are great too. Thanks Ian for the mold-breaking fabrication and techniques for the DIY fabricator. Its more than metal, its a way of life. Thank you both and bless you this Independence Day.

Cant wait to see the new shop in Tehatchipi. We decided to stay for a couple days and total our car in the canyon. Bad winds the day we went through and it actually blew the car off the road. Otherwise it was a beautiful place. Hope it is what you are looking for.

I made one very similar to this back in 2016! It was 12ft long from axle to axle! I used the gearing from a 21 speed bicycle and doubled it with three derailers! The chain ran through a z pattern! The seat was low in the frame with the 13hp motor in the back like a v dub! My frame was made from thick wall 2and a quarter inch conduit tubing! It bends in an s pattern from the seat to the triple tree! And I hand made a springer style set of forks! I'm currently working on a mini C Cab trike! Love this guy's work!

It looks great so far Ian. Thanks for the video today. I'm building my own "Full Custom" shelf for my storage shed, and needed a break. Congratulations on your big announcement.

I think that this mini chopper trike is going to be cool and fun when it's done. I think the Drag boat project was really cool and different from the other custom cars that you and Victor have done.

Between the ages of 9 and 13 I was building chopper bikes with home made springer front ends. My dad got 200 springs from a bunch of machines they company he worked for was replacing. I finally ran out of those springs and couldn't find any like them so I stopped building chopper bikes

Had a very close friend who was a genius Aerospace engineer, passed on but taught me a lot. He most always began with cardboard of varied thickness then transferred to real material. You remind me of him often as you go through your process. Pretty cool - Thanks

Ian’s thought process is like organized chaos. It’s entertaining to watch, and oddly familiar. Must be a gearhead thing. 😎

I had to stop and wonder what you were doing a few times but it worked out great. Can't wait to see more of this build. Bayside New York is watching.

I did some rat fink model kits as a kid. Watching you work on this mini bike trike it totally clicked something in my rat fink past. So I looked up rat fink model and MPC sells a Trick Trike Series on amazon. Lists decals and parts. Loving this project!

You just can't second guess Ian. Says he is a simple guy but I don't think so. Love to watch him do his magic.

An actual drum brake ! Me and Dad built one around 1960 and all it had was a screech brake !!! Don’t run thru water !!!! But it was great. 👍👍👍

can't help but be reminded of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth who built nothing but trikes after he moved to the high desert, except Roth was committed to the concept as serious transportation, thinking it the wave of the future in practical transportation.

In the future if you create a fiberglass mold, to release it from the plug you can use air. Place random blow holes, and blow air under the edge of the mold as well.
