I was halfway down an escalator when it broke down. I was stuck on there for several *hours* until they finally got it back up and running again. *Not* a pleasant experience. :/

I'm really not seeing how someone could get hurt from this like people are claiming in the comments. Elevators don't go that fast, its not like slamming the brakes in a car. They are not going to lunge forward and die. Its totally harmless.
