Channel description
This channel is all about photo editing and the photography gear used to capture the images. I cover RAW image processing and help beginner photographers learn how to use their equipment to capture and edit the photo they see in their minds. The photo editing software used on this channel is On1 Photo Raw, Luminar and Nik Collection. I also use mobile editing apps on my iPad Pro using my apple pencil. The mobile photo editing apps I use are Affinity photo, ON1 Mobile and Pixelmator Photo.

Depth mapping can be a killer feature for me if it can read the depth info of an iPhone photo. The ability to adjust focus after the shot has been made, is awesome and I’d love to see that coming to ON1 too, because otherwise I have to pre-edit on my iPhone and postprocess in ON1.

The way functionality is rolled out is classic ON1. headline capability with the October release, updates and sometimes additional capability soon after. Maybe a point release after that.

I am curious to know if edit colour will apply to infrared captured and edited files. Thanks to ON1 2024, camera profiles are now available for the two Nikon bodies I had converted to IR. The IR channel modification in effects doesn't always produce the desired red-blue channel swap. Consequently, I have to integrate the file into CS3. I'm hoping that edit colour will modify the NEF files before exporting to Jpeg.

I think this will be a good update.
One thing I wish they would consider is a way to easily migrate any add ons into a new release. I no longer add any of their extras from their library.
I always seem to have to do a fresh install every time as the update never seems to work and the new micro updates are ever worse.

To me it would be good for all user addons and custom made presets / luts etc to be installed into a seperate folder system, so we could just point the program to it after an install and they would then populate into the menus.

Hmm... the GenErase is an interesting feature. To augment it, I think I will make it my standard practice to take photos of backgrounds without people whenever I'm photographing people. Would be investing to see if there is an option to assist GenErase with a selected background.

Thanks Chris for the ON1 2025 feature preview! I’m most looking forward to the Gen AI tools, photo stacking, edit color, and camera profiles. Question: Can the photo stacking be activated / automated during the import of photos? This would save me a lot of time as I shoot many exposure bracketed shots for landscape scenes. Thanks!

Will definitely be upgrading from 2024 MAX just for the edit colour feature alone. That feature in C1 was Why other companies can't do something similar including company, I will never know. THANK YOU ON1.

Sounds very interesting and promising. My 2 biggest concerns/curiosities are will it perform the tasks and render high quality, accurate results reliably and are the hardware requirements going to to be raised yet again, as On1 usually seems to suggest as a resolution to users' issues with each new version.

Hey man, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with everyone. I started my trial on ON1 and I really enjoy the user interface. It also supports my old Ricoh GX200 raw files, which DxO Photolab couldn't open.
I'm new to photography and photo editing, and like I said, I do use time to time my old GX200 for B&W photos. The problem I'm having is that the CCD sensor on the GX200 is now having a vertical bad line, which is common on old CCD cameras, but I cannot find a way to remove the line on ON1. When I zoom in the photo, I can see that 1 pixel line is very visible, but it also affects another one line on each side, so I can see 3 pixel lines with wrong colors, normally white/grey. Do you know if there is a way I can create a default action so I can run the same on all pictures before starting editing them?
